'Discovery Live' to be unveiled early next year, reflecting changes immediately
Equipped with convenience and intuitiveness so that even non-experts can use it

Ansys Korea announced that it is releasing a beta version of its engineering simulation solution, Discovery Live, for free. The company plans to officially launch the product early next year, incorporating feedback from beta users.

"There have been many attempts to improve convenience for designers and allow them to see results quickly," said Cho Yong-won, CEO of Ansys Korea. "However, no matter how easy it was, expert assistance was still required. With Discovery Live, all engineers can immediately review the results of design changes."

Simulation involves virtually testing the physical properties of reality and can be usefully applied in various fields. Because the computational process is complex, it takes about two weeks with a computer containing around 100 central processing units (CPUs) to verify the physical mechanism of a single semiconductor.

Designers do not have time to wait to verify physical phenomena with many variables on a computer, interpret the modeling results, and receive them. Discovery Live is GPU-based and enables the immediate digital exploration of the impact of user changes, allowing for fast and accurate product manufacturing.

CEO Cho stated, “Currently, Ansys is an industry leader, holding more than half of the domestic market share.” “We will further strengthen our domestic market strategy based on our solutions,” the company stated, outlining four key areas of focus. The plan is to concentrate on simulation solutions in the fields of Chip Package Systems (CPS), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 5G, and Conducted Emission (CE).

A chip package system is a system that can analyze all electrical, electronic, thermal, and structural models of semiconductors and packages within PBC. Ansys CPS solutions enable multiphysics analysis by utilizing CPS models, SIwave, HFSS, icepak, and Mechanical.

ADAS is an unprecedented technology in the automotive industry that incorporates new and complex technologies. Ansys provides simulation software that assists in the analysis of physical domains, such as complex sensors, power, and thermal dynamics. Since 5G utilizes the mmWave band with short wavelengths, it requires products and manufacturing methods different from existing processes. Accordingly, electromagnetic analysis tools help generate meshes to predict accurate results and enable the rapid calculation of multiple meshes.

CE is an EMC standard that limits the amount of noise radiated by electromagnetic waves through conductive media, such as power lines or signal lines. Ansys supports analysis by bundling electromagnetic analysis tools with system analysis tools.
