GiGA Genie LTE can be used anywhere in an LTE environment

KT held a press conference at KT Square in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, to unveil the 'GiGA Genie Family' and showcased three new products: 'GiGA Genie LTE,' Korea's only LTE-based artificial intelligence (AI) speaker; 'GiGA Genie Buddy,' which features a compact design for enhanced usability; and 'GiGA Genie Kids Watch,' an AI-powered smartwatch for children. GiGA Genie LTE was officially launched on this day, while GiGA Genie Buddy and Kids Watch are scheduled for release early next year.

Just as KT transformed AI from an inaccessible service into one that the whole family could easily enjoy together with the launch of GiGA Genie, the company announced its goal to enable customers to enjoy AI at every moment they need it through the newly unveiled GiGA Genie Family.

The GiGA Genie LTE, which officially went on sale today, is the only AI LTE speaker that allows users to access AI services anywhere in South Korea. While other products are only usable in a Wi-Fi environment, the GiGA Genie LTE can be used anywhere, making it the first AI speaker to offer true mobility and portability.

Just like the existing GiGA Genie, it is equipped with Harman Kardon speakers to provide deep, rich, high-quality sound. Harman Kardon is a world-renowned audio brand that is also highly popular as a car audio system for global luxury vehicles.

In addition, based on the GiGA Genie platform, it provides various functions such as 'media services' like Genie Music, News Briefing, and Radio; 'conversational assistant services' including emotional conversation, lifestyle information lookup, knowledge search, schedule, traffic, and nearby search; and 'home IoT functions' such as controlling door locks, safety valves, and home appliances.

In particular, equipped with an LTE router function, it allows you to set up your own Wi-Fi environment during business trips or outdoor activities, enabling seamless wireless internet access on laptops, smartphones, and more. With a size similar to a tumbler (7x7x17cm), it offers excellent portability and features a sleek, black cylindrical design. The battery capacity is 4,100mAh, the largest among AI speakers released in Korea, allowing for up to 8 hours of continuous use during audio playback.

The launch price of GiGA Genie LTE is 264,000 won, but considering the official subsidies provided with LTE data plans, the actual purchase price ranges from 59,000 won to 98,000 won. KT plans to run a promotion offering an exclusive case and a Genie Music voucher to users who purchase the device by the end of this year.

GiGA Genie Buddy and GiGA Genie Kids Watch, unveiled alongside GiGA Genie LTE, are also products set to change AI service usage patterns. Scheduled for release in January of next year, GiGA Genie Buddy is characterized by its ability to be used in any space, such as bedrooms, kitchens, studies, and bathrooms, unlike the existing GiGA Genie which was primarily used in the living room.

As expected, it boasts premium sound quality equipped with Harman Kardon speakers. Along with advanced intelligent conversation technology, it provides assistant functions such as music, news, alarms, and voice chat. In particular, when linked with GiGA Genie, it enables TV and Genie Music control as well as Home IoT control, allowing you to conveniently control every corner of the house from your room.

GiGA Genie Buddy is scheduled to be released in a cylindrical design similar to GiGA Genie LTE and in one color, black, and is only half the size of GiGA Genie LTE (8.5 x 8.5 x 6.6 cm).

GiGA Genie, an AI TV officially launched at the end of January this year, has changed the perception of AI services—previously considered the exclusive property of specific demographics or the younger generation—into a service that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. This is because it allows for intuitive use through the TV screen, and in fact, GiGA Genie is receiving favorable reviews not only from the younger generation but also from middle-aged and older adults.
