LG Electronics Recognized for Safety Management Capabilities at Gumi A3 Plant
Published2017.12.13 11:53LG Electronics received recognition for its safety management capabilities by winning the Presidential Award at the Korea Safety Awards.
LG Electronics' Gumi A3 Plant was selected for the Presidential Award at the 16th Korea Safety Awards ceremony held at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 13th. Its safety management, in which every member performs their duties with a thorough safety awareness, received high praise.
LG Electronics' Gumi A3 Plant, established in 2005, is located in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and currently produces LG OLED TVs, solar modules, and more. It employs approximately 1,000 staff members and has a total floor area of 126,000 square meters (㎡).
Ryu Tae-young, Head of Gumi Support at LG Electronics, emphasized, “The combined efforts of employees to ensure workplace safety have produced good results,” adding, “We will continue our efforts to create a workplace free of safety accidents.”

LG Electronics Develops LTE-Based V2X Autonomous Driving Safety Technology
LG Electronics has successfully developed LTE-based V2X (Vehicle to Everything) terminals and autonomous driving safety technologies utilizing them, marking the first such achievement in Korea. LG Electronics recently completed successful performance verification through demonstrations of its independently developed V2X safety technology at the driving test track of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority's Automobile Safety Research Institute located in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, and on regular roads in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province. LTE V2X is a technology that connects vehicles with all entities—including Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I), and Vehicle to Pedestrian (V2P)—through LTE high-speed mobile communication to establish a safer and more convenient transportation environment.
