ams and Odithc (Shenzhen Odithc Electronics Co Ltd), a Chinese design house specializing in high-precision flow measurement, announced that they have jointly developed a turnkey solution for the design of industrial and commercial ultrasonic flow meters.

The industrial and commercial ultrasonic flowmeter solution was designed based on ams’s latest ultrasonic-to-flow converter (UFC) product, the TDC-GP30YA, and Odithc’s patented technology. Regarding the supply of this turnkey solution, both companies stated that their goal is to provide a complete system solution that is high-performance, simple, and easy to use, and accelerates the product launch of flowmeter manufacturers.

The TDC-GP30YA is based on the time-to-digital converter (TDC) technology that ams’s MSS (Medical & Specialty Sensor) business unit has been developing for over 20 years. The ams TDC unit provides excellent resolution of up to 11 ps and includes an ultra-low power 32-bit microprocessor and a task sequencer for controlling all internal function blocks. Additionally, based on its low current consumption characteristics, it consumes approximately 4 µA of current when operating at a sampling rate of 2 Hz.

The Odithc team possesses extensive experience in hardware, software, and system design, as well as expertise in the field of ultrasonic flowmeter technology for over 10 years. Odithc uses its proprietary intelligent algorithms to compensate for variations between the mechanical, acoustic, flow distribution, and electronic characteristics of flowmeter designs. Therefore, it supports users in implementing a high-performance ultrasonic flowmeter system that is compact, perfect, and also cost-optimized.
