Targeting the Central African Market, a Land of Opportunity, with 'LG Signature'
Published2018.02.02 08:00LG Electronics held 'LG InnoFest' at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, showcasing 'LG Signature' and this year's new products.
'LG InnoFest' is a community-oriented new product launch event serving as a venue for 'innovation' and 'festival' to strengthen partnerships with key business partners.
The event was attended by LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Representative Vice President Cha Kuk-hwan, as well as key business partners and foreign journalists from 64 countries.
Africa was chosen as the host region due to its high growth potential. According to the 'African Economic Outlook 2017' report released by the African Development Bank, the growth rate of Africa's gross domestic product (GDP) will rise from 3.4% last year to 4.3% this year.
LG Electronics plans to sequentially hold 'LG InnoFest' in Europe, Asia, and Latin America within the year, following the Middle East and Africa.
'LG Signature' is LG Electronics' premium home appliance brand featuring performance achieved through technological innovation, refined design, and intuitive usability, and includes OLED TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, and humidifying air purifiers.
LG Electronics showcased premium products to be sold this year, including the Tromm dryer equipped with a dual inverter heat pump, 'Knock-on Magic Space' which allows users to easily check food inside the refrigerator with two knocks, and OLED TVs equipped with the 'Alpha 9' picture chip.
Cha Kuk-hwan, Vice President and Head of LG Electronics' Middle East and Africa region, said, “We will continue to introduce premium products with enhanced performance and durability targeting the Middle East and Africa market, which has high growth potential.”

LG Electronics, No. 1 in Refrigerators in 7 Major European Countries
LG Electronics' premium refrigerator received the highest score in a refrigerator performance evaluation conducted by Italian consumer magazine Altroconsumo. LG전자가 지난해 연결기준 매출액 61조 3,963억 원, 영업이익 2조 4,685억 원을 기록했다. 매출액과 영업이익은 전년 대비 각각 10.9%, 84.5% 증가했다.
