Domestic ICT Company Showcases Technological Capabilities to Alibaba in Gangneung
Published2018.02.13 15:54On the 12th, the Ministry of Science and ICT held the Korea-China PyeongChang Information and Communication Technology (hereinafter 'ICT') Business Forum together with Alibaba Cloud in Gangneung, where the PyeongChang Olympics are being held.
At this forum, the excellent products and technological capabilities of our ICT companies were showcased on Alibaba Cloud, and cooperation plans between Korea Post, an agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT, and Alibaba were discussed.
Eleven promising ICT companies, including small and medium-sized ICT companies located in the 'Gangneung ICT Promotion Center,' showcased the excellence of our ICT technologies and services to Alibaba Cloud.
Services such as VR Media, which produces virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR) content, and 3D Factory, which produces 3D stereoscopic holograms that can be viewed without glasses, were introduced.
In particular, six companies, including Lunit, which diagnoses medical images based on artificial intelligence (AI), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Alibaba Cloud at the forum and decided to explore ways to jointly enter the global market in the future.
The Ministry of Science and ICT stated, “We hope that through this forum, mutual cooperation between our ICT companies and Alibaba will increase domestic and international interest in our ICT technologies and services and revitalize Korea-China economic cooperation.”

"데이터 기반의 플랫폼 서비스가 사회 바꿀 것"
아마존, 구글, 알리바바, 넥플릭스, 페이스북 등 글로벌 기업들에게 공통점이 있다. 바로 ‘플랫폼 기업’이라는 것이다. 이제 플랫폼은 산업에 있어서 중요한 비즈니스로 떠오르고 있다. 산업통상자원부는 플랫폼 기업들의 사례를 공유하고 국내 산업이 나아갈 방향에 대해 논의할 자리를 마련했다. 17일 코엑스 열린 ‘2017 산업플랫폼 컨퍼런스’는 새로운 비즈니스 산업의 흐름인 플랫폼 비즈니스에 대한 인식을 높이고 확산을 위해 개최됐다. 산업통상자원부 R&D 전략기획단 백만기 단장은 “주요 산업이 급격한 디지털화를 겪고 있다. 이 근저에는 데이터와 플랫폼이 있다”며 “플랫폼이 가진 공통역량과 기업이 가진 핵심역량으로 공공성과 혁신성 있는 공공플랫폼을 만들어야 한다”며 산업별로 플랫폼으로 전환하려면 기존 허브 기업에서 출발하는 것이 바람직하다고 설명했다.

SKT, 알리바바와 손잡고 New ICT 시대 그려나갈 것
SK텔레콤(이하 SKT) 박정호 사장과 중국 알리바바 그룹 마윈 회장이 만나 New ICT 산업의 청사진을 논의했다. 양사는 AI와 5G와 같은 차세대 ICT 산업에 대해 의견을 교환하고 차세대 미디어, 콘텐츠 등 미래 사업 기회를 공동으로 모색하기로 합의했다. 두 회사는 이번 회동을 계기로 사업과 미래 기술 협력을 검토할 방침이며 통신, 미디어, 콘텐츠, 커머스 등 다양한 ICT 분야에서 각국 대표기업으로 활약하고 있는 만큼 협력이 추진되면 새로운 가치를 창출할 수 있을 것이라고 기대했다.
