Samsung SDS signed an industry-academia agreement with KAIST College of Management to promote education and joint research in big data analysis technology.

This agreement is part of Samsung SDS's industry-academia collaboration program, "Brightics Academy," and is the fourth agreement following agreements with Sungkyunkwan University, Hanyang University, and Seoul National University last year.

Brightics Academy is a program that provides Samsung SDS' Brightics AI free of charge to foster data analysis experts and expand the base of data analysis platforms. Samsung SDS researchers with extensive field data analysis experience provide training.

Brightics AI is Samsung SDS's artificial intelligence (AI)-based big data analysis platform that quickly analyzes massive amounts of data and visualizes them in an easy-to-understand manner.

It provides analysis models that can be utilized in various industries such as manufacturing, logistics, marketing, and finance, so even non-experts can easily analyze data. It is also provided in cloud format, so it has the advantage of being available without additional investment in servers or other services.

Through an agreement signed last year, Samsung SDS is providing its Brightics AI platform and lectures to Hanyang University's Graduate School of Business and Seoul National University's Fourth Industrial Revolution Academy. Sungkyunkwan University plans to apply the platform to its Data Science Convergence Graduate School program, established this year.

Kim Ki-jo, a student participating in the Seoul National University 4th Industrial Revolution Academy course, said, “Integrating and processing multiple sources for data analysis requires a lot of time and effort. Samsung SDS' Brightics AI platform is a smart analytics tool that simplifies this process and visualizes the results immediately, allowing you to focus solely on analysis,” he said.

Through this agreement, Samsung SDS will provide the Brightics Academy program to KAIST School of Management's MBA program's Analytics-related courses and capstone projects.

KAIST Business School Dean Kim Young-bae emphasized, “We will do our best to intensively cultivate business analytics experts who will lead digital transformation through big data analysis research and information exchange with Samsung SDS.”

Samsung SDS CEO Hong Won-pyo said, “We hope that through industry-academia collaboration through Brightics Academy, many capable data analysts will be produced and play a significant role in the industrial field.”
