MediaTek's ONNX efforts are expected to expand its AI platform.

MediaTek has joined the Open Neural Network Exchange (ONNX), which aims to establish interoperability standards for deep learning model transfer.
ONNX, created and launched by Amazon, Facebook, and Microsoft, helps developers mix and deploy the tools and systems they need at every stage of their AI projects.



MediaTek has already participated in the Android Neural Network (ANN), and this new participation and support for ONNX demonstrates MediaTek's continued commitment to integrating AI across its technology portfolio.

Additionally, MediaT is implementing its latest announcement to support AI edge computing with the launch of its new NeuroPilot AI platform. The NeuroPilot AI platform encompasses both hardware and software.

MediaTek NeuroPilot includes an SDK and AI processing unit that supports the development of AI-enabled mobile and smart home devices, including automotive.

“The key to developing AI applications and capabilities is found in an open ecosystem where shared research and interoperability are true enablers of innovation,” said Jerry Yu, corporate vice president and general manager of the Home Entertainment Business Group at MediaTek. “To expand our AI platform and ensure interoperability and choice in MediaTek NeuroPilot development, we need to expand our support for open AI frameworks by joining the Open Neural Network Exchange.”

The MediaTek NeuroPilot AI platform works with existing AI SDKs such as Google TensorFlow, Caffe, Amazon MXNet, and Sony NNabla, and provides support for Android and Linux at the OS level.
