Xperi to Integrate DTS Virtual:X Technology into LG Electronics' Ultra HD TVs
Published2018.03.27 12:08Xperi announced that it has partnered with LG Electronics to bring DTS Virtual:X, DTS' multi-channel surround sound technology, to LG's latest Ultra HD TVs.
DTS Virtual:X technology is a premium audio post-processing sound solution for TVs, AVRs, sound bars, etc., adding a 'height' element to horizontal sound to create a three-dimensional entertainment environment encompassing top and bottom, left and right, front and back. With the application of DTS Virtual:X technology to this 2018 LG Ultra HD TV product, you can now enjoy immersive audio even with existing two-channel speakers without installing separate additional speakers in the home.
DTS Virtual:X technology supports up to 7.1.4 (11.1 channel) input sources, allowing you to enjoy a variety of premium content, and based on a flexible architecture, it provides various functions such as virtual sound height, virtual surround, bass enhancement, and multi-band hard limiter in a TV environment. The latest LG Ultra HD TV models supporting DTS sound technology will be released in the Korean market starting in February and will be sold sequentially in the Middle East, Europe, and Japan.

Xperi Korea Demonstrates Mobile and Automotive Electronics Technologies at Korea Electronics Show
Xperi Korea will participate in the 'Korea Electronics Show 2017' held from the 17th to 20th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, and will demonstrate key technologies from DTS and Fotonation for mobile, smart home appliances, and automotive electrical system solutions. Xperi Korea will establish DTS and Fotonation experience zones at booth C170 in the Korea Electronics Show venue, and will showcase various technologies including mobile audio technology and automotive electrical system solutions for virtual reality and autonomous driving era. Xperi, which is expanding its business into mobile and automotive electrical system fields, will notably present for the first time at this KES the DMS (Driver Monitoring System) technology from Fotonation, which possesses the highest technological capabilities in iris, body, and facial recognition fields. In the DTS experience zone, ▲DTS Headphone:X™, a DTS surround sound technology applied to the latest LG Electronics Gram laptop series, ▲'DTS Play-Fi™', a high-quality streaming platform, and ▲DTS Connected Radio™ technology for automobiles will be demonstrated.
