Western Digital is launching the high-performance 'Western Digital WD Black 3D NVMe SSD' in Korea, featuring cutting-edge performance, low power consumption, and enhanced durability for PC gaming systems.

This new product uses a proprietary SSD architecture and controller to accelerate data utilization in PC applications, enabling users to access, work with, and store high-resolution video, audio, and gaming content faster.

With the growing demand for high-quality content, running performance-intensive applications and playing 4K or UHD graphics and video content has become a must-have for PCs. Western Digital has developed a new SSD that addresses existing storage bottlenecks, enabling the fast and seamless transfer of these massive amounts of data.

Available in the M.2 form factor, these new drives feature a new NVMe architecture and controller that optimally integrates with Western Digital's 3D NAND technology. This vertical integration allows Western Digital's new SSD platform to maximize NVMe SSD performance from the outset, along with enhanced power management and endurance. This provides performance suitable for applications that are becoming increasingly diverse as NVMe technology advances.

The Western Digital WD Black 3D NVMe SSD offers up to 1TB of capacity with exceptional sequential read (up to 3,400 MB/s for the 1TB and 500TB models[1]) and write (2,800 MB/s for the 1TB model) performance. It accelerates fast data that requires high performance, enhancing your gaming experience. In addition, it is suitable for data-intensive multitasking environments such as multi-threaded applications with random read speeds of up to 500,000 IOPS (input/output operations per second, 1TB model) to handle extreme workloads.

The Western Digital WD Black 3D NVMe SSD offers a five-year limited warranty and 600TBW (total writes, based on the 1TB model) endurance. The domestic manufacturer's suggested price (MSRP) is KRW 149,000 for the 250GB model, KRW 279,000 for the 500GB model, and KRW 589,000 for the 1TB model, depending on capacity. It will be available for purchase from domestic official importers, online shopping malls, and SIs starting from the end of May.
