Airbiquity Participates in the 5th ESCA Asia Conference
Connected vehicle services company Airbiquity announced on the 19th that it will sponsor and participate in the 5th ESCA Asia Conference, taking place in Tokyo, Japan, on October 3rd and 4th. This two-day conference is an open forum that brings together automakers, suppliers, analysts, researchers, and government transportation representatives to develop countermeasures for connected vehicle cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation. At the conference, Airbiquity will demonstrate its OTAmatic over-the-air (OTA) software update and data management service.


- Unisoc joins China Telecom Industry Alliance
Unisoc joined China Telecom's 'NetCom Industry Alliance' on the 14th. Earlier this year, China Telecom announced its 2018 terminal strategy and the official release of NetCom 3.0. It also announced plans to promote network development through various investments, including incentives. Unisoc, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Group, focuses on the independent research, development, and design of chips used in mobile and IoT applications. Its products include 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G mobile communication baseband chips, IoT chips, RF chips, and wireless connectivity chips. Unisoc is currently accelerating the development of its technology and business layout in the 5G field and announced plans to launch 5G chips in 2019.


LG Electronics Enters Taiwan's Premium Home Appliance Market
On the 13th, LG Electronics launched its high-end home appliance line 'LG SIGNATURE' in Taiwan. LG Electronics held a launch event at the Taipei New Horizon Building in Taipei, Taiwan, inviting about 200 local business partners, reporters, and opinion leaders. The 'LG SIGNATURE OLED TV' and 'LG SIGNATURE Air Purifier' were introduced by famous Taiwanese actress Ke Jia-yeon, the 'LG SIGNATURE Refrigerator' was introduced by Michelin star chef Wu Xiao-fang, and the 'LG SIGNATURE Washing Machine' was introduced by fashion designer Daniel Wong. Also on display were photographs taken by Taiwanese photographer Liu Jin-xiang using 'LG SIGNATURE' under the theme of 'The Art of Essence'. Taiwan is a market with a strong preference for premium products, and LG Electronics plans to use this launch as an opportunity to further strengthen its dominance in the Taiwanese premium market.


Samsung Electronics targets Southeast Asia with customized refrigerators.
On the 13th, Samsung Electronics held an event to announce the launch of a new top-freezer-bottom-freezer refrigerator at its home appliance complex in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Demand for premium refrigerators in various forms is increasing in Southeast Asia due to continued economic growth. The refrigerator unveiled that day features an Optimal Fresh Zone, designed to maintain a refrigerator temperature of -1°C, reflecting the region's unique characteristics. It also features an ergonomic design, with a height 200mm lower than previous models to reflect the average height of local customers. Samsung Electronics plans to expand sales to major Southeast Asian markets, starting with Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and New Zealand.


Anritsu portable tester for assessing optical fiber status in the field
Anritsu Company, a Japanese communications solutions company, announced the launch of the ACCESS Master MT9085 Series handheld testers on December 12th, delivering accuracy and comprehensive measurement capabilities for fiber optic cable installation and maintenance in LTE, 5G backhaul, and metro and core networks. The MT9085 Series' 8-inch touchscreen, rotary knob, and hard keys enhance OTDR waveform analysis, increasing ease of use and reducing field work time. Additionally, the Fiber Visualizer function provides visual indication of fiber optic events such as splices, connectors, and splitters.
