KT and Renault Samsung Launch EasyLink, an AI-Based In-Vehicle Infotainment System That Understands Drivers

An IVI system equipped with AI that understands the driver's speech will be launched in Korea.
KT announced on the 23rd that it will launch 'EASY LINK', an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system based on Giga Genie, together with Renault Samsung Motors.
EasyLink will be applied to Renault Samsung's new model, 'The New QM6', and the two companies plan to continue expanding connected car services to enhance customer convenience.
Easy Link, equipped with KT's AI service Giga Genie, is a system that allows you to control vehicle infotainment services with your voice.
It's convenient because you can launch a variety of content with simple commands like "Genie, tell me the news." Services like In-Vehicle Navigation and Genie Music can be accessed on the in-vehicle display even without a smartphone.
In addition to navigation and music services, Easy Link provides a total of 11 functions, including ▲podcast (Podbbang) ▲real-time voice news ▲weather/fine dust information ▲Wikipedia search ▲English word translation ▲vehicle manual guidance. All functions can be controlled by voice commands, ensuring safety while driving.
Renault Samsung Motors plans to make the service available to customers who have already purchased The New QM6, and to celebrate the launch of EasyLink, it will also run various promotions, including basic provision of data and content.
Kim Tae-jun, head of sales at Renault Samsung Motors, said, “Cars have now transformed from a means of transportation into cultural spaces,” and added, “In line with the trend, we have added infotainment technology to THE NEW QM6 to provide customers with an enjoyable and safe driving experience.”
“Starting with the launch of Easy Link, we plan to continue expanding collaborative services with Renault Samsung Motors that can improve driver convenience,” said Choi Kang-rim, executive director of KT’s Connected Car Business Center. “KT will further develop connected car services suited to the upcoming era of 5G autonomous driving.”

SKT Unveils Sangam DMC 5G Autonomous Driving Testbed
SK Telecom unveiled the Sangam 5G autonomous driving testbed and demonstrated 5G and V2X convergence autonomous driving technology at the Sangam Autonomous Driving Festival. The Sangam 5G autonomous driving testbed is the core infrastructure of the Seoul C-ITS demonstration project, for which SK Telecom was selected as the lead operator in January. The testbed is equipped with comprehensive 5G-based autonomous driving infrastructure including 5G network, C-ITS, and control platforms, enabling autonomous driving and connected car test drives on general roads within the DMC. This is expected to enable safe autonomous driving using 5G-based V2X technology such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication (V2I) even in situations where vehicles face difficulty relying solely on vehicle sensors due to sensor errors and adverse weather conditions.
