Arrival Adopts ST Devices for Its Commercial EVs
Uber's jointly developed EV and UPS's EV to be installed


STMicroelectronics announced on the 1st that it has signed an agreement to provide automotive security MCUs, PMICs, and BMS products to Arrival, an electric vehicle (EV) specialist company. This agreement will integrate ST technology into Arrival's commercial EV modular ECU platform.

ST's technology will be used in the 'Arrival Car', which is being jointly developed by Arrival and Uber, as well as in up to 20,000 commercial EVs that logistics company UPS has ordered from Arrival.

“Choosing the right technology for our vehicles is crucial to extending the life of our products, increasing their value and enhancing their sustainability by extending their useful life,” said Sergey Malygin, Arrival’s Senior Vice President of Technology.

“ST is committed to supporting the electrification and digitalization of the automotive industry,” said Michael Anfang, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, EMEA, STMicroelectronics. “The Arrival EV, powered by ST technology, will be a starting point for the eco-friendly vehicle industry.”

Meanwhile, Arrival utilizes microfactories based on proprietary hardware, software, and robotics for its EV production. These microfactories can be built anywhere in the world, allowing for the utilization of local talent and supply chains, as well as tax benefits.
