Yoo Young-sang, the newly appointed CEO of SK Telecom, will lead the SKT 2.0 era as the new head.


SK Telecom officially announced on the morning of the 1st that it held a board meeting and appointed Yoo Young-sang as the new MNO business representative.

Since joining SKT in 2000, CEO Yoo Young-sang has been in charge of new business investments and the discovery of future growth engines at SKT and SK C&C. In particular, he has grown into an expert in new business discovery and M&A within the SK Group, including overseeing the practical aspects of the acquisition of SK Hynix in 2012.

Since 2019, as the head of SKT’s MNO business, he has solidified leadership in wired and wireless communication based on AI and 5G, and has led the discovery of new growth businesses such as subscription and metaverse services, and has been evaluated both internally and externally as the right person to lead the SKT 2.0 era.

On the afternoon of the 1st, President Yoo is scheduled to hold a town hall meeting for all employees as his first official event since taking office as CEO and reveal his plans regarding a new vision, management philosophy, and corporate culture.

SKT, launching anew with a new CEO, plans to evolve into the No. 1 'AI & Digital Infra Service Company' that creates new customer value and contributes to social development by strengthening new growth engines such as AI and digital based on stable wired and wireless communication infrastructure.
