The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (Director Shin Hyun-sam) contributed to the growth of resident companies and the revitalization of the startup support ecosystem through various programs for the scale-up of startups at the Pangyo Startup Zone.

Gyeonggi Innovation Center announced on the 21st that it successfully concluded the '2021 Startup 815 Homecoming Festa' held at the Pangyo Startup Zone.

The Pangyo Startup Zone is the largest startup support space in Korea, established by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to intensively foster promising domestic entrepreneurs and jointly operated by the Korea Startup Foundation and the Gyeonggi Innovation Center.

This Homecoming Festa was held for three days starting on the 15th at the Collaboration Lounge on the 6th floor of the Startup Zone located at the Pangyo 2nd Techno Valley Enterprise Support Hub.

It was organized as an event attended by startup stakeholders from various fields, including the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, startup zone incubated companies, related organizations, VCs, angel investors, and senior entrepreneurs.

Befitting a festa for startups, a diverse range of programs attracted attention, including △Investment IR (presentations on corporate business models to investors by session, investor feedback and networking) △Business Meetups (open innovation seminars, consultations on specialized fields (HR/labor, finance/certification, etc.)) △Networking (networking between startups, VCs/CVCs, and In-Depth experts from the Startup Leap Package) △Special Lectures and Seminars (The New Normal Era - Three Things You Need to Change, etc.).

All programs were conducted offline, limited to vaccinated individuals and holders of disease prevention passes, in accordance with social distancing measures strengthened due to COVID-19, and were simultaneously broadcast on the Gyeonggi Innovation Center YouTube channel.

A startup CEO who participated in the Homecoming Festa stated, “Amid the physical and psychological isolation caused by COVID-19 last year, it was an important opportunity to form relationships between companies for the last time this year.”

Team Leader Gu Min-shin of the Startup Zone Team stated, “This served as a great opportunity to share this year’s achievements and create new sales channels through in-depth networking between startups and experts,” adding, “It was a valuable time to support the leap forward of companies in the Startup Zone, and we will do our best to revitalize the startup support ecosystem.”

Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center is fulfilling the mission of the nation's largest startup support cluster as a "startup hub where people, information, ideas, and investment gather," focusing on business advancement (support for attracting investment and linking with large corporations) and market expansion (global expansion).
