The Korea Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning Institute, the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, and the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Industry Promotion Association are joining hands to promote the development of the electronics IT sector and the system semiconductor industry, and synergy effects between demand and supply companies are expected in the future.

On the 20th, the Korea Electronics Promotion Association, the Korea Semiconductor Association, and the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association held a 'System-Semiconductor Business Agreement and Meeting in the Electronic IT Field' to revitalize the System Semiconductor Convergence Alliance, which is currently being operated as part of the 'System Semiconductor Vision and Strategy'.

The event is expected to be an opportunity to create synergy between demand and supply companies in the system semiconductor industry in the future through the signing of a business agreement for solidarity and cooperation between the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning, which is in charge of national research and development support projects, the Korea Electronics and Telecommunications Industry Promotion Association, which is a representative association of the electronics and IT industry, and the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, which represents the semiconductor industry.

Additionally, a meeting was held to discuss inter-industry cooperation measures to secure core technological competitiveness between supply and demand companies in the electronics IT sector.

Today, demand companies such as Winia Electronics, Youngone Corporation, Rosetta Tech, and Twos Tech attended the system-semiconductor supply and demand meeting, and system semiconductor and sensor companies such as Above Semiconductor, Iron Device, Shinsung Sound Motion, and Genetics participated and expressed various opinions on solidarity and cooperation plans between domestic system companies and semiconductor companies.

The System Semiconductor Convergence Alliance is a joint cooperation platform for 'demand discovery → technology planning → R&D' between demand companies and supply companies in the six major domestic industries. It holds technology exchange meetings between demand companies (systems) and supply companies (semiconductors) and joint R&D planning, etc., from the early stages of product development. Encouraging mutual cooperation △ In addition to demand linkage between domestic companies, we support technology and purchasing cooperation with leading companies through networking with global companies such as those in China.

To this end, the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association/Research Association operates an online platform called 'COMPASS (COMmercial Platform for Alliance of System-Semiconductor)' to support ongoing cooperation between supply and demand companies, and operates a government support program for technology development between supply and demand companies.

Lee Chang-han, executive vice president of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, said, “Starting with this electronics and IT system-semiconductor business agreement, we plan to continue promoting exchanges so that solidarity and cooperation can be achieved between demand and supply companies in the domestic electronics and IT sectors. We will not spare support in establishing a foundation so that cooperative synergy between companies can be expanded.”

Meanwhile, the System-Semiconductor Convergence Alliance has been conducting technology exchanges in the fields of mobile and IoT home appliances (November 2020) last year, automobiles (March 2021), bio (October 2021), and energy (October 2021), and plans to support regular and continuous exchanges in the six major industrial fields.
