As AI migrates to the network edge, solutions featuring machine learning and AI in embedded MCUs are growing significantly.
Mouser Electronics, Inc. (NASDAQ: HUZZ), the leading global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, today announced the release of a new eBook on the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in collaboration with STMicroelectronics (ST).
In the new eBook, "Intelligence at the Edge," subject matter experts from Mouser and ST provide in-depth analysis of the challenges and applications for AI and ML development. The eBook includes articles on topics such as intelligent sensors, embedded neural networks, and reactive AI.
AI-based technologies and devices will transform the way we live and work, increasing productivity, improving quality of life, and providing greater environmental sustainability. However, cloud AI applications require enormous resources in terms of power, bandwidth, and data, while raising important questions about privacy and security.
As AI migrates from cloud servers to the network edge, machine learning models used in embedded microcontrollers will significantly increase the use of AI-enabled applications and devices. This new eBook provides a variety of articles, infographics, and educational videos that explore the potential applications of ST products in edge AI applications.
"Intelligence at the Edge" provides links to over a dozen relevant ST solutions. Key products include the STM32U5 series of ultra-low-power microcontrollers for advanced applications, including wearables, industrial sensors, home automation, and personal medical devices. These microcontrollers are based on the Arm® Cortex®-M33 core and feature 2MB of flash memory and 786KB of SRAM.
ST's NanoEdge™ AI Studio product enables developers to quickly create optimal AI libraries for specific projects without data science skills or knowledge. NanoEdge AI Studio also helps developers easily detect security issues and perform predictive maintenance.
Meanwhile, Mouser sells and distributes various solutions from ST, including microcontrollers, sensor kits, power management ICs, and memory devices.
