The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) announced on the 15th that it had appointed former National Security Research Institute expert Hwang Su-hoon as the director of the institute.


Commissioner Hwang Su-hun graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Kyungpook National University in 1988 and received a master's degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1990.

He joined KT in 1990 and worked as a full-time researcher until 1994. He then worked at the National Intelligence Service for 25 years, serving as center director and director.

In addition, he also served as a director at the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and as a specialist at the National Security Technology Research Institute.

ETRI President Bang Seung-chan presented a letter of appointment to the new director of the National Security Technology Research Institute, Hwang Su-hoon, on the 15th, and the new director will begin his three-year term on that day.

The National Security Research Institute is a government-funded research institute under the National Research Council of Science and Technology and an affiliate of ETRI, established in 2000 as a specialized information security research institute.
