In an era of skyrocketing energy costs and high inflation, an IoT idea contest has been held to save wasted and discarded energy.

The 'Protecting the surrounding energy using IoT!' idea contest hosted by e4ds MAKE was held on the 15th.

This contest, the second in a series themed "Creating Smart Environments with IoT," will be accepting applications from the 15th to the 4th of next month. Anyone with an idea for how to save energy in our daily lives using Internet of Things (IoT) technology is eligible to participate.

Participants can participate by submitting ideas related to energy conservation, regeneration, and generation. The deadline is February 4th.

You must submit a description of your idea along with the HW/SW configuration and schedule plan required for development.

The judging criteria reflect five factors: creativity, usability, differentiation, technicality, and objectivity/popularity.

The winners will receive points that can be used at the Make Point Mall. The following awards will be awarded: 1st place (5 winners) will receive 100,000 points each, 2nd place (6 winners) will receive 50,000 points each, and 3rd place (8 winners) will receive 25,000 points each.

This year's Make Contest will feature three Make Contest webinars during Quest 1. First, a review of the "Fire Detection Project," the winning entry in IoT Contest 1, is scheduled for Friday the 19th.

In addition, a tour of 'CES 2024' with Director Kim Hak-yong will be held on the 25th, and the Make Workshop Series webinar 'Connecting Node-RED and My SQL' will be held on the 31st.

The Make Contest organizer added, “This contest is different from previous ones in that it only has Quest 1, and since participants only need to submit ideas, we expect the burden on participants to be light.” They added, “We hope to see many novel IoT ideas that will revolutionize our daily lives, and we hope for the participation of many current and prospective developers and engineers.”
