Park Se-jun, CEO of offensive cybersecurity firm Theory, received a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety for his contributions to strengthening national information security capabilities.

Teori announced that CEO Park was named a winner at the opening ceremony of the '32nd Information and Communications Network Information Security Conference (NetSec-KR 2026)' held at COEX in Seoul on the 16th.

NetSec-KR 2026 is an event held from April 16 to 17, hosted by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and organized by the Korea Information Security Society.

This award is interpreted as the result of evaluating both achievements on the international hacking defense stage and contributions to the advancement of the domestic security system.

According to related reports, CEO Park has won the global hacking defense competition DEF CON a total of nine times and set a record for the first-ever four consecutive wins at the competition.

Theori explained that these achievements served as an opportunity to internationally prove the technical competitiveness of domestic security personnel.

The award also included activities to protect national telecommunications infrastructure.

CEO Park was recognized for playing a pivotal role in identifying the causes of the national telecommunications network breach and formulating strategies to prevent recurrence, as well as for contributing to strengthening security governance connecting the private, public, and military sectors.>
At the opening ceremony of NetSec-KR 2026, awards were also presented to individuals who contributed to information security, including the Minister of Science and ICT Award and the President of the Korea Internet & Security Agency Award.

Progress in the field of AI security is also cited as a key factor in this award.

CEO Park is reported to have led the development of the AI hacker 'Xint' and the Large-Scale Language Model (LLM) security solution 'AlphaPrism' based on his achievements in the 'AI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC)' organized by the U.S. DARPA.

Teori explained that through this, it is presenting a direction for next-generation security automation to respond to intelligent security threats.

In his acceptance speech, CEO Park stated that it was meaningful to be able to contribute to national cyber security based on offensive security technology.

He added that he would continue AI-based security innovation and fulfill his responsibility to create a safer digital environment.
