AMD is strengthening its market responsiveness by reorganizing its sales organizations in the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions. The strategy is to respond to the growing demand for AI and high-performance computing by deploying personnel with global sales experience to key positions.


AMD announced on the 29th that it has appointed Vinay Awasthi as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions. Vice President Awasthi will be responsible for establishing and executing sales strategies for the region and strengthening collaborations with key customers and partners.

Vice President Awasti will be based in Singapore to expand OEM and channel partnerships and coordinate market entry strategies. The company plans to support growth across the cloud, enterprise, artificial intelligence (AI), commercial, and consumer markets through this initiative.

Vice President Awasti has over 20 years of experience leading sales organizations in the technology industry. Prior to joining AMD, he served as Senior Vice President of Global Compute Sales at Qualcomm, and before that, he worked at HP for over 20 years, where he was known to have managed various regional and global organizations.

He stated, “I will focus on strengthening cooperation with customers and partners and enhancing execution capabilities in the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions.” Darren Grasby, AMD’s Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, also said, “We expect to contribute to generating meaningful results in the region.”

AMD explained that this personnel reshuffle reflects its commitment to expanding investment and partnerships in the region. It is also reported to focus on strengthening the regional organization's capabilities to meet the growing demand for AI and accelerated computing.
