Cognex Korea (www.cognex.co.kr) May 14, 2015 – Cognex (www.cognex.co.kr), a global leader in machine vision, announced innovative PatMax RedLine™ feature localization technology that maximizes the performance and speed of the industry's best PatMax® pattern matching tools. PatMax RedLine technology is available in the latest version 5.1 of Cognex® In-Sight Explorer™ software and is optimized to run on three newly released In-Sight® vision systems.

• In-Sight 5705: The world's fastest standalone 5MP vision system, capable of stable inspection even on high-speed production lines.

• In-Sight 8405: The world's smallest standalone 5MP vision system, ideal for applications requiring a lightweight camera or where mounting space is limited.

• In-Sight 5705C: The world's only standalone 5MP color vision system, equipped with advanced tools and true 24-bit color image filters, capable of handling even the most demanding applications.

Pattern matching is a critical technology that serves as the first step in most machine vision applications. Because previous tools had fixed speed limitations, many applications had to rely on low-resolution cameras to keep pace with production lines. The new PatMax RedLine technology provides faster speeds in high-resolution vision systems, eliminating the trade-off between speed and performance while enabling higher resolution and accuracy without compromising speed.

"Customers are demanding reliable color inspection as well as the visualization of very small defects even across a wide Field of View (FOV)," said Joerg Kuechen, Vice President and Vision Products Manager at Cognex. "Existing pattern-matching algorithms are too slow for use in these high-resolution applications. Like all In-Sight vision systems, the newly announced 5MP model can be conveniently configured using In-Sight Explorer software. The In-Sight Explorer spreadsheet view provides stable and efficient system configuration and vision application data processing capabilities, while the drag-and-drop vision tool palette and tool property sheet enable more intuitive work. Additionally, the new vision system adopts JavaScript to simplify complex and data-intensive vision tasks.
