[Editor's Note] Asung Korea is expanding its technical support from a system perspective, going beyond component supply. Participating in the 2026 Power Electronics Conference held from July 13 to 16, Asung Korea unveiled StarPower SiC and IGBT modules, MotiveLink inductors, FARATRONIC capacitors, its self-developed inverter, and a 200kW inverter evaluation kit. In addition, by operating a joint booth with Murata and ROHM, the company introduced data center and industrial power solutions along with a SiC evaluation platform, supporting customers in receiving in-depth technical consultations during the design and evaluation phases. Accordingly, at this academic conference, I met with Choi Dae-han, Executive Director of Asung Korea, to learn about the company's portfolio and technological capabilities.

The key message of the 2026 Power Electronics Exhibition is that Asung Korea is a technology partner and Total Solution Provider working with customers in the SiC-based High Power market.

As the power electronics market rapidly shifts toward high efficiency, high power, and high precision, customer demands are expanding beyond the supply of individual components to system-oriented solutions.

In line with these changes, Asung Korea is strengthening its capabilities to become a Total Solution Provider in the High Power sector, moving beyond a simple parts technology distributor.

Through this exhibition, we aim to showcase Asung Korea's technological prowess and solution capabilities, encompassing everything from components to systems.

■ The most noteworthy products and technologies at this year's exhibition are

This exhibition is organized into two main sections: the Asung Korea main booth and the collaborative booth with Murata and ROHM.

At the main booth, StarPower's SiC and IGBT power modules and wafers, MotiveLink's inductors and filters, FARATRONIC's film capacitors, and Asung Korea's integrated inverter and Polepair's second-generation general-purpose inverter will be showcased.

Especially this year, our own We are unveiling the developed 200kW-class inverter evaluation kit for the first time.

This product is a platform that supports customers in evaluating high-output drive systems more easily and efficiently.

The biggest feature of this exhibition is that you can view everything from components to finished systems and evaluation environments all in one place.

In addition, the collaborative booth will showcase Murata's data center and industrial power solutions and ROHM's EcoSiC-based SiC evaluation platform, and will also facilitate direct technical consultations with maker representatives.

■ I am curious about the significance of operating the Murata·ROHM joint booth.

Asung Korea has long collaborated as a partner with Murata and ROHM.

This collaborative booth is an opportunity to showcase the technological capabilities of each manufacturer together with Asung Korea's experience in domestic sales and technical support.

At the site, a representative from the manufacturer and an engineer from Asung Korea conducted a technical consultation together.

From the customer's perspective, I believe the greatest significance of this collaborative booth lies in the ability to engage in in-depth technical discussions regarding actual design and application, in addition to product introductions.

■ What are the most notable recent changes in the power electronics market and Asung Korea's response strategy?

The power electronics market is rapidly changing towards high efficiency, high power, and high precision, and SiC technology is at the center of this.

As the demand for improved power efficiency rises for EVs, ESS, and charging infrastructure, as well as recently for AI data centers, the demand for related solutions is also continuously increasing.

Asung Korea is StarPower's power devices, MotiveLink, and FARATRONICIt has a portfolio that covers the entire power conversion value chain, including passive components, Murata's power solutions, and proprietary inverter technology.

In addition, we are continuously expanding our technical capabilities to support customers from the design stage to evaluation, verification, and mass production application.

At this exhibition, you can see the core technologies of power conversion systems in one place, ranging from SiC power modules, passive components, power solutions, inverters, and even 200kW inverter evaluation kits.
