Taking advantage of the 'K-AI Summit' held in San Francisco, USA, SK has successively expanded cooperation in the AI infrastructure sector with global big tech companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, Anthropic, and AWS.

SK announced on the 24th (local time) at the K-AI Summit held at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, USA, that it had agreed to cooperate with Nvidia, Microsoft, and Antropic in the field of AI infrastructure, including AI semiconductors and AI data centers.

Through a separate meeting with AWS, plans to expand cooperation on domestic AI infrastructure were discussed, building upon the existing partnership for the construction of the Ulsan AI data center.

SK Group signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Nvidia to build AI infrastructure worth over $500 billion.

SK Telecom plans to build and operate a high-performance AI factory in stages starting in 2027 by introducing 'Vera Rubin,' a next-generation AI computing system equipped with NVIDIA's 'DSX' platform and SK Hynix HBM4, to build the largest AI factory in Korea with a capacity of 2GW.

SK Hynix is partnering with Nvidia for the long-term supply and joint development of next-generation AI memory, including HBM.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, said, “SK Telecom, SK“Together with Hynix, we will build a new generation of AI factories that will lead Korea’s next growth,” he said.

SK Chairman Chey Tae-won stated, “Based on SK Telecom’s AI infrastructure capabilities and SK Hynix’s AI memory, SK, together with NVIDIA, will contribute to Korea’s leap from being a country that consumes AI to a global hub that creates AI innovation.”

SK Hynix has agreed with Microsoft on a plan to supply server memory optimized for AI workloads in the mid-to-long term.

SK Telecom and Antropic signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build a gigabit-scale AI data center in Korea, and shared a vision with AWS to secure gigabit-scale AI computing capacity in the long term based on a partnership with the Ulsan base.

At the event, Chairman Chey Tae-won presented three major tasks for the success of the mega project: realizing an 'AI native nation,' reducing token costs, and minimizing the side effects of AI.

Chairman Choi emphasized, “The three major mega-projects are AI projects for the growth of South Korea and projects for all of us,” adding, “We must pool our capabilities as quickly as possible to ensure their success.”
