Samsung Electronics has completely revamped its subscription services in conjunction with the pre-sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 series. Key features include the introduction of the 'Flip Youth Subscription' targeting those in their teens and twenties, the addition of a three-year subscription type, and expanded compensation for cybercrime damages.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th that it is revamping and operating the 'New Galaxy AI Subscription Club' ahead of the pre-sales of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8.

This service is a subscription product that guarantees up to 50% of the residual value when the device is returned after signing up and offers discounts on Samsung Care Plus and accessory packages.

The key point of this reorganization is the addition of the 'Flip Youth Subscription' targeting the 1020 generation.

Customers who purchase an unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 8 model and sign up for a 2-year plan can receive up to 50% of the residual value of the Samsung.com base price when they return the device after 2 years.

Subscribers will also receive a one-month subscription to the language app 'Speak' Premium Plus.

A new '3-year plan' has been added to the foldable subscription types, in addition to the existing 1-year and 2-year plans.

To 3-year plan subscribersAlong with free repairs, battery replacements, and on-site repair services, the 'Samsung Care Plus Smartphone Loss/Damage' product is provided, which covers not only damage but also loss.

Loss compensation is provided once every 12 months for a maximum of 3 times, and a 30% deductible of the standard price of the replacement device applies.

The 1-year and 2-year plans will retain the damage-focused 'Samsung Care Plus Smartphone Damage' product.

The residual value guarantee rate is 50% for the 1-year model, 40% for the 2-year model (50% for the Galaxy Z Flip 8), and 25% for the 3-year model, based on the 8th generation foldable unlocked model.

Compensation for cybercrime damages is newly provided to all subscribers.

You can receive compensation of up to 3 million won for damages from cyber financial crimes such as phishing, smishing, hacking, and pharming, and up to 500,000 won for damages from internet direct transactions or shopping mall fraud.

It applies only to customers who have registered their IMEI.

The monthly subscription fee is 9,900 won for the 1- or 2-year plan and 14,500 won for the 3-year plan for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Fold 8, and 8,900 won for the 1- or 2-year plan and 11,500 won for the 3-year plan for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

If subscribers of the previous year's Fold 7 or Flip 7 1-year plan re-subscribe to the new model, they can also receive an additional 1-year benefit of 'Samsung Fire & Marine 365 Travel Insurance'.
