MathWorks Calls for Papers on Use Cases of MATLAB and Simulink Product Families
Published2015.12.22 12:39MathWorks, a company in the field of technical computing software, announced that it is accepting papers and research cases regarding experiences of successfully utilizing the MATLAB and Simulink product families in projects ahead of MATLAB EXPO 2016 Korea.
MATLAB Expo is the largest annual comprehensive technology conference hosted by MathWorks, providing engineers and researchers across various industries with the opportunity to acquire and exchange information on the latest technology updates and related solutions for the MATLAB and Simulink product families. In 2016, it will be held at the InterContinental Coex on April 28 and will cover the latest technology trends such as big data analytics, the Internet of Things, and humanoid robots.
The major application fields covered in this call for papers and research cases include data analysis and visualization, mathematics, statistics and optimization, and control system design and analysis. In addition, there are physical modeling, signal processing and communication, image processing and computer vision, test and measurement, code generation, verification and validation, and FPGA/HDL/ASIC design and verification.
Those wishing to participate must select at least one of the application fields listed above and submit a half-page A4 abstract to matlabexpo_kr@mathworks.com by January 8, 2016. The abstract must include the following: project completion/in progress status, major tasks and solutions, how MathWorks products were used, and key results. When submitting, the title of the paper or research case, affiliation (company/institution/school) and department, presenter's name, and contact information (mobile phone number, email address) must also be included. Selected papers will be given the opportunity to present their case directly at the MATLAB Expo to be held in April.
Lee Jong-min, CEO of MathWorks Korea, stated, “We organized this contest to share successful applications of MathWorks solutions across various industries, including automotive, telecommunications, electronics, and financial services, with a wider audience.” He added, “MathWorks plans to continue holding a call for papers and research cases annually ahead of the MATLAB Expo, and we look forward to the interest and participation of many people.”

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
