Samsung Electronics announced that its entire lineup of new SUHD TVs, launched in 2016, have received premium certification from the UHD Alliance. This certification is based on thorough consumer research and is in accordance with the standards announced by the UHD Alliance, which evaluated all key performance aspects related to TV picture quality, including ▲UHD resolution ▲High Dynamic Range (HDR) ▲Peak Brightness and Wide Color Gamut.

The new Samsung SUHD TV meets premium certification standards with brightness that most closely replicates natural light and HDR technology that expresses deep blacks in any environment. According to Samsung Electronics, it meets the maximum brightness standard of 1,000 nits, allowing it to vividly express dazzling sunlight and fleeting lightning flashes.

Launched at CES 2015, the UHD Alliance, comprised of major TV manufacturers, Hollywood studios, and content providers, produces premium UHD content and selects UHD TVs capable of displaying it effectively. This commitment contributes to providing consumers with a superior UHD viewing experience unlike anything seen before. Launched a year ago with 12 members, the alliance now boasts over 30 members and has established a standard for premium UHD picture quality.

“We will provide consumers with more innovative picture quality through UHD Premium certification in each sector of the UHD ecosystem,” said Hanno Basse, Chairman of the UHD Alliance.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics' acquisition of this premium certification is significant in that it provides customers with a next-level UHD viewing experience not only through some premium SUHD TV models, but also through all Samsung SUHD TV models.
