Teradata Solidifies 'Leadership' in Data Warehousing

Teradata Korea (www.teradata.kr), a company in the field of big data analytics and marketing applications, announced today, through a report by The Information Difference, a global data analytics research firm, that Teradata is solidifying its position as a global leader in the field of data warehousing.
The Information Difference publishes an annual data warehousing market outlook report evaluating the best global data warehouse vendors. This report assigns weighted scores based on various factors, including customer satisfaction measured by surveys of the vendors' key customers, analyst evaluations of technology, technological maturity, and technological coverage based on the Information Difference Functional Model; based on these scores, it indicates the position of each vendor within a diagram with Technology and Market Strength as the two axes.
The Information Difference report explains that “data warehouses are evolving in multiple directions, not only responding flexibly to various deployment options including on-premises and cloud, but also handling increasingly large data volumes as well as non-traditional data types.”
Andy Hayler, co-founder and CEO of Information Difference, said, “The latest report analyzing 2015 clearly demonstrates that Teradata continues to establish itself as a leader in data warehousing technology innovation and expertise. In particular, it was found that many customers gave high ratings to Teradata’s technology implementation, consulting, and professional services, and Teradata was selected as the best company in terms of customer perceived value for data warehousing.”

Related steps include support for Teradata® QueryGrid™ for Presto open-source software, Teradata Database based on the AWS (Amazon Web Services) public cloud, Teradata Module for Python supporting DevOps, Software-Defined Warehouse for realizing logical data warehouses, a comprehensive update to the Teradata workload-specific platform product family, and the expansion of Think Big services into Europe.
In addition, Teradata is the first company to streamline data exploration and analysis by integrating Teradata Database, Teradata Aster Analytics, and Hadoop in a single Teradata® UDA Appliance.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
