MDS Technology Hosts Defense and Aerospace Software Technology Seminar in Daejeon

MDS Technology, a company specializing in embedded solutions, announced that it will hold the '2016 Defense/Aerospace Software Technology Seminar' at the Daejeon Convention Center on the 16th to introduce solutions and application cases for efficient weapon system software development.
With the advancement and networking of the battlefield environment, embedded software is emerging as a core component of weapon systems. Furthermore, as the scale of software in aircraft is rapidly increasing due to modernization and equipment integration, there is a growing demand for competitive software quality.
Accordingly, MDS Technology is organizing an event to emphasize the importance of weapon system software and present practical measures to enhance software quality competitiveness. The company plans to share solutions and application examples for efficient weapon system software development with developers from defense research institutions and defense contractors.

(Photo courtesy of MDS Technology) Notably, LIG Nex1 will present its software reliability testing business process with a focus on preparing for on-site evaluations, while the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) will introduce DDS communication middleware and application software development tools, and will also demonstrate related products.
In addition, this event is expected to provide an opportunity to realize the current status and future potential of domestic system software through the introduction of case studies in which MDS Technology’s real-time operating system (NEOS) and communication middleware (NeoDDS)—which were the first in Korea to be installed on the FA-50 prototype and successfully undergo flight testing—have been applied to various reliability-based industrial fields, such as power combat systems, light armed helicopters, drones, and aircraft engine control.
Lee Sang-heon, CEO of MDS Technology, stated, “To ensure the reliability and security of weapon system software, efficient and systematic development from the initial stages is essential to enhance software quality competitiveness.” He added, “I hope this seminar will be a meaningful event that contributes to the revitalization of the domestic defense and aviation software market, which is currently underdeveloped.”
Meanwhile, this seminar, consisting of three tracks, is sponsored by the Korea Aerospace Industry Association and the Embedded Software and Systems Industry Association, and free attendance is available after pre-registering on the website.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
