Edgecore 40G open switch, AS6712-32X

InfoA (CEO Seonhee Cho), the official Korean partner of Edgecore, a network brand for telecommunications carriers and enterprises, announced that it will launch the 40G open switch AS6712-32X in Korea.

Equipped with the Intel Atom C2538 quad-core CPU and Broadcom Trident II switching silicon, the AS6712-32X is a powerful leaf/spine open-loop switch that features 32 40GbE QSFP ports, an RJ-45 console port, and one gigabit management port, along with 8GB of system memory and 8G of NAND flash memory.

In addition, it boasts high usability by supporting leading commercial operating systems such as PicOS, Cumulus Linux, and Switch Light as well as open source operating systems and software packages such as Open Net Linux (ONL) and Open Switch by default with ONIE (Open Networking Install Environment).


Kim Jong-seo, director of InfoA's solutions division, said, "The PoC and testing work we've been doing with various customers, including telecommunications carriers, hosting companies, platform developers, and campus businesses, has borne fruit since this year, and the number of cases being applied in the field is increasing."

Following the 40G open switch, InfoA plans to launch a 100G switch equipped with Broadcom ASIC and Cavium ASIC in the first half of the year, thereby establishing a total switch lineup ranging from 1G to 100G.
