KT Adds 4 'GiGA IoT Home Manager' Services Linked with Samsung Home Appliances
Providing a total of 6 types of telecommunications-home appliance convergence services, including existing air conditioners and air purifiers.

KT announced on the 8th that it is strengthening cooperation with Samsung Electronics to expand 'Home IoT (Internet of Things)' by adding four types of 'GiGA IoT Home Manager' services that link with home appliances.

The four types of home appliances linked this time are refrigerators, robot vacuums, washing machines, and ovens. By linking the two companies' IoT platforms, compatibility is possible through wireless access points (APs) connected via Wi-Fi in the user's home, making it possible to provide more convenient services to customers.

KT and Samsung Electronics provide device status checking, remote control, and status notification functions for six types of home appliances, along with two previously released products (air conditioners and air purifiers). However, in the case of the 'oven', integration is expected to be completed within April, and KT is the first to integrate six types of Samsung home appliances with WiFi capabilities.

Customers who wish to use the service can purchase a product at online or offline stores, such as Samsung Electronics Digital Plaza, and then sign up for KT's 'GiGA IoT Home Manager' service if they already have a Samsung Smart Home account.

Among the six types of home appliances, you can use 'GiGA IoT Home Manager' by adding Samsung Electronics home appliances you own, and until the end of this year, the basic usage fee of 1,100 won (including VAT) for adding devices for the Samsung appliance linkage service is provided so that no additional charges are incurred.

In addition, KT is providing the 'Home IoT Device Recipe' feature through its 'GiGA IoT Home Manager' service, which helps configure IoT devices in the home to be automatically controlled according to the customer's situation or lifestyle.

Care for GiGA IoT home products and Samsung Electronics home appliances through the 'My Own Recipe' feature

In particular, while previously only pre-set recipes provided in the recipe book could be used, a 'My Own Recipe' feature has been added to allow users to create their own home device recipe scenarios that reflect their individuality. In 'Parent Love Recipe,' one of the recommended recipes, a recipe called 'Refrigerator 24-Hour No Usage Notification' has been added to the existing 'Gas Valve/Door Open 24-Hour No Usage Notification,' making it possible to control Samsung appliances as well.
