The Army and the National Defense University agreed to cooperate in establishing an organization for managing and developing embedded SW.
Plans to supply real-time operating systems for defense/aviation, real-time communication middleware, SW configuration management tools, and SW testing tools

Embedded solution specialist MDS Technology (CEO Sang-heon Lee) announced on the 29th that it signed a business agreement for cooperation in weapon system SW technology with the Army General Maintenance Depot (Director: Brigadier General Ki-seop Park), the military maintenance depot management organization under the Army Logistics Command.

The Army Comprehensive Maintenance Depot plans to establish a SW management organization embedded in a weapon system for the first time in the Army and establish a SW management and development work system from the perspective of SW engineering and safety. We are establishing a business foundation for organization, personnel, facilities, etc., such as opening an embedded SW support center for embedded SW management.



MDS Technology, a defense SW specialist participating in large-scale projects in the high-reliability control field such as the K2 tank vehicle control computer, FA-50 Korean mission computer, guided weapons, and nuclear power, has decided to supply its self-developed real-time operating system (NEOS RTOS), real-time communication middleware (NeoDDS), SW configuration management tool, and SW testing tool to the Army General Maintenance Depot.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate to ▲exchange personnel and hold academic conferences among SW experts, ▲promote joint research and cooperative development in the SW field, and ▲exchange related information such as academic materials, publications, and SW to improve the development, configuration management, and testing work of the SW management organization embedded in the Army Comprehensive Maintenance Depot's weapon system.

Brigadier General Park Ki-seop, Commander of the Army Comprehensive Maintenance Depot, said, “I highly value the technological prowess of MDS Technology, which has been accumulated over 16 years to domestically produce embedded SW for weapon systems where safety and reliability are important,” and added, “By establishing a civilian-government-military collaboration system, we will actively engage in exchanges across the SW field and establish an embedded SW management foundation, thereby contributing to the development of the national economy and defense industry.”

Meanwhile, MDS Technology participated as a representative of the private sector along with LIG Nex1 and Hanwha Thales in the opening ceremony of the Embedded SW Support Center in the Changwon Army Maintenance Depot.
