Siemens Korea Selected as Supplier for Asia Cement Smart Factory Advancement Project
Published2016.06.22 06:11Siemens Korea’s Process Industries and Drives business unit has been selected as the supplier for the Phase 2 automation project of Asia Cement, the largest cement and ready-mix concrete manufacturer in Korea.
Siemens demonstrated its competitiveness in the industry by carrying out the first phase of Asia Cement's factory automation project in 2014 and being selected as a supplier for the second phase of the automation project as well.
For this project, Siemens will provide Asia Cement with the CEMAT solution, a Siemens process automation system package specialized for the cement industry. In addition, the company plans to expand the application of the MIS and newly implement a remote monitoring system capable of monitoring production processes from a distance.
Asia Cement plans to proceed with the Phase 3 upgrade project in the second half of this year, and Siemens will continue to play a partner role in making the Asia Cement plant an even smarter factory.

Siemens PLM Software Signs Industry-Academic Cooperation Agreement for Smart Factory Education and Training
지멘스 PLM 소프트웨어 코리아는 설계 소프트웨어 기업, 오코텍(AUCOTEC), 대전대학교와 스마트팩토리 교육훈련을 위한 산학협력을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협력은 스마트팩토리 전문 인재를 양성하고, 스마트팩토리 교육체계를 강화해, 스마트팩토리 산업발전을 도모하기 위한 목적으로 체결되었다. 정부는 제조업 3.0 전략의 일환으로 스마트팩토리 구축 활성화에 적극 나서고 있다. 산업통상자원부에 따르면, 2015년 10월까지 총 963개 스마트팩토리 구축이 이뤄졌다. 정부는 2020년까지 1만여개의 중소?중견 제조공장을 스마트팩토리로 만들 방침이다. 또한 청년실업 및 중소?중견기업의 전문인력 부족문제 해소를 위해 스마트팩토리 등과 같은 주요 분야에 필요한 설계, 엔지니어링 등 소프트웨어 전문 인재 양성에도 적극 나서고 있다.
