Improved design and added convenience with voice recognition features

Samsung Electronics unveiled its new 2017 TV models at the Keep Memory Alive Center in Las Vegas, USA, in front of over 200 media representatives from around the world.

They named the next-generation display 'QLED' using new quantum dot technology with metal materials and unveiled QLED TVs such as the 88-inch Q9F and 75-inch Q8C.

Samsung Electronics stated that QLED TVs utilize a technology that applies metal to quantum dot particles, enabling them to express differences that were difficult to distinguish in conventional two-dimensional color coordinates and emit bright, natural light ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 nits. They further explained that this breaks the conventional wisdom that brightness degradation must be accepted to expand the color gamut. Additionally, a panel structure optimized for quantum dots ensures a wide viewing angle without color distortion depending on the viewing position.

QLED TVs reinforce the bezel-less screen and clean-back design concept, which are key features of Samsung's premium TVs, and connect peripheral devices using transparent cables called 'Invisible Connection.' For wall-mounted models, the 'No-gap Wall Mount Design' is applied, allowing the TV to be mounted flush against the wall. In addition, TV stand designs were diversified.

Samsung Electronics has extended 'Smart Hub,' which allows users to control peripherals with a single remote and gather content on the home screen, to mobile devices. It is now accessible through the 'Smart View' mobile app, which features a interface consistent with the TV's 'Smart Hub.'

It is equipped with an 'Intelligent Voice Recognition' feature that allows users to operate all TV menu functions and peripherals via voice commands. This feature enables users to change settings such as channel numbers, channel names, genre searches, volume, screen brightness, and game modes. Furthermore, simply calling out the name of a game console allows the TV to check the connection of the cable and automatically turn it on, while also handling complex settings like changing input sources on its own, enhancing user convenience.
