Gear S3 Participates in Baselworld 2017 and Operates an Exclusive Booth
Swiss designer unveils three concept products: analog, design, and hybrid pocket watches.

Samsung Electronics is participating in the watch fair 'Baselworld 2017', which is being held in Basel, Switzerland for eight days from the 23rd (local time) to the 30th. Baselworld is the world's largest watch fair, bringing together watch brands, buyers, and 150,000 watch enthusiasts from around the world.

At a press event held on the 23rd at Samsung Electronics’ exhibition booth (Galaxy Studio) inside the Baselworld venue, about 50 reporters participated in a talk show-style discussion and introduced concept products, new straps, and the Gear S3 and S2 software value packs.

Swiss watch designer Ivan Arpa introduced three concept products: an analog watch incorporating actual Swiss-made movements and details into the Gear S3 design, a concept smartwatch with a new exterior design based on the Gear S3, and a hybrid pocket watch combining the Gear S3 with a Swiss-made movement.

He said, “The fact that Samsung Electronics, which has led the smartwatch industry, is participating in Baselworld signifies that the smartwatch industry has taken a step forward,” adding, “It was a very interesting and unique experience to introduce the Gear S3 at Baselworld, which holds an unrivaled position in the traditional watch industry.”

The Gear S3 is a smartwatch released by Samsung Electronics last November that combines traditional watch design with cutting-edge technology.It is sold in over 60 countries worldwide.
