Siemens announced that it has completed the acquisition of Mentor Graphics, a leader in the electronic design automation (EDA) software market.

Siemens sees its electronic systems and integrated circuit (IC) design tools as delivering significant customer value, and this acquisition will further solidify its commitment to delivering this value. Mentor Graphics will become part of Siemens' Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software business unit. This strengthens Siemens' position as a leading industrial software provider, offering integrated solutions for product design, simulation, verification, test, and manufacturing.

Today, the use of sophisticated embedded electronics in products continues to grow, from smartphones and home appliances to automobiles, aircraft, and machinery. In this environment, Siemens is uniquely positioned as a supplier of comprehensive software solutions required by companies developing these products.
