Dell EMC Unveils 14th Generation PowerEdge Server Products

Dell EMC unveiled solutions, including the new 14th generation Dell EMC PowerEdge server product family, at the Dell EMC World 2017 conference held in Las Vegas, USA, starting on the 8th (local time).
One of the newly announced solutions is the 14th Generation PowerEdge server, a new portfolio for Dell EMC servers, which lead the global x86 server market. As a core component of Dell EMC's "Modern Data Center" strategy, the 14th Generation product family was developed with a focus on efficiently and securely supporting not only existing applications but also next-generation IT environments, such as the cloud and SDDC (Software Defined Data Center), in a rapidly changing business environment.
The new 14th generation PowerEdge servers not only enhance CPU performance by selecting next-generation Intel Xeon processors but also feature ultra-high-speed storage using NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express). Dell EMC, which was the first in the industry to equip servers with NVMe through the 'Express Flash' option, has equipped up to 24 drives with NVMe in these 14th generation PowerEdge servers, providing a whopping 19 times more NVMe capacity than previous models.
Power efficiency has been significantly improved, and eco-friendly hardware design has also been introduced. It maximizes GPU performance using 'multi-vector' cooling technology and increases the number of VDI (Desktop Virtualization) users per server by up to 50%. By optimizing airflow from the front to the back of the server, it not only enhances application performance but also addresses power consumption and heat issues. Additionally, the elimination of chemical paint on the exterior of the equipment is noteworthy.
To support the digital transformation of enterprises, the new PowerEdge products focus on key values of IT transformation, including architectural scalability to support diverse workloads, intelligent automation through expanded APIs and the new 'OpenManage Enterprise,' and integrated security to protect data and applications.
Dell EMC's new 14th Generation PowerEdge servers are set to feature the upcoming Intel Xeon Processor Scalable family. Intel's advanced capabilities are expected to further enhance the performance, efficiency, and stability of Dell EMC PowerEdge servers. Detailed specifications and pricing information for Dell EMC's 14th Generation PowerEdge servers are scheduled to be released in the middle of this year.

Dell EMC Unveils IoT Solutions Needed for Industrial Sites at Automation World
Dell EMC Korea will showcase IoT solutions at 'Automation World 2017' held at COEX for three days from March 29 to 31. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
