Dell Technologies announced a large number of partnerships and solutions for AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things) at the 'Dell EMC World 2017' event.
Dell Technologies’ various partnerships with technology leaders in each field, as well as Dell, Dell EMC, VMware, and Pivotal under the Dell Technologies umbrella, are aimed at enabling companies to more easily and quickly adopt next-generation technologies related to AI and IoT and realize IT innovation.
The strategies announced by Dell Technologies regarding AI and IoT include: 'Alice,' an AI-based virtual advisor for female entrepreneurs; 'Dell IoT Solution Partners,' Dell’s partnership with global industrial automation companies such as Bosch and Atos; 'VMware Pulse IoT Center,' an IoT infrastructure management solution for easy IoT device management; and 'EdgeX Foundry,' the Linux Foundation’s open-source framework for interoperable edge computing.
'Alice' is a project by the global women's startup support organization 'Circular Board' for women'sAs the world's first artificial intelligence (AI) platform for entrepreneurs, it was jointly developed with Dell and its subsidiary, Pivotal. Alice, a product of Dell's social responsibility initiatives, uses data analysis to connect female entrepreneurs with resources in real time tailored to their specific business situations, sectors, and revenue scales. Utilizing machine learning to identify entrepreneurs' needs, it provides various consultations, events, and mentoring, while facilitating access to capital and the industry ecosystem.
Accessible from around the world, Alice provides an interactive user interface for fields such as law, marketing, and finance, personalized dashboards, a vast library of global expert networks and resources, and analysis and suggestions from Circular Board experts and external partners. As the number of users grows, Alice is expected to be able to deliver even more sophisticated personalized content through increasingly refined machine learning.
Dell partners with global companies possessing leading technological capabilities in their respective fields to participate in various IoT projects. Dell IoT Solution Partners include Atos, a global leader in digital innovation such as big data and cybersecurity, and Bosch, a technology and service provider that has led the global market through continuous innovation, as well as leading companies in fields ranging from multi-protocol data management to analytics and security.
VMware also unveiled 'VMware Pulse IoT Center,' a management solution that enables easy and efficient control of IoT devices. VMware Pulse IoT Center allows enterprises to comprehensively manage, operate, scale, and protect their IoT projects from the edge to the cloud. It enables simple device management through real-time analytics and monitoring, while also incorporating robust security features. Dell EMC plans to offer VMware Pulse IoT Center as a management and monitoring solution for its flagship IoT solution, Edge Gateway.

Dell EMC Unveils 14th Generation PowerEdge Server Products
Dell EMC unveiled new solutions including the 14th generation 'Dell EMC PowerEdge server' product line at the 'Dell EMC World 2017' conference held in Las Vegas, USA starting from the 8th local time. One of the newly announced solutions is the 14th generation PowerEdge server, a new portfolio of Dell EMC servers that lead the global x86 server market. The 14th generation product line serves as the core of Dell EMC's advocated 'Modern Data Center' strategy and was developed with a focus on efficiently and securely supporting not only existing applications but also next-generation IT environments such as cloud and SDDC (Software-Defined Data Center) in a rapidly changing business environment. The new 14th generation PowerEdge server opts for next-generation Intel Xeon processors to enhance CPU performance and is equipped with ultra-high-speed storage using NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express). Dell EMC, which was the first in the industry to mount NVMe on servers through the 'Express Flash' option, now equips the 14th generation PowerEdge server with NVMe on up to 24 drives, achieving a remarkable 19 times greater NVMe capacity compared to existing models.

VMware Announces IoT Infrastructure Management Solution
VMware가 미국 라스베이거스에서 개최된 EMC 월드 2017에서 엔터프라이즈급 IoT 인프라 관리 솔루션 VMware Pulse IoT Center를 발표했다. VMware Pulse IoT Center는 VMware가 공개하는 첫 IoT 인프라 관리 솔루션으로, IoT 인프라에 필요한 엣지 시스템과 커넥티드 디바이스 사이를 유연하게 연결한다.
