KT Launches 'Pocket Doctor,' an Integrated Search App for Hospitals, Pharmacies, Doctors, and Veterinary Clinics
Published2017.05.30 15:51Pocket Doctor, positioning itself as a "personal doctor in your hand," boasts a database containing information on over 73,000 hospitals and 22,000 pharmacies. In particular, it has enhanced the accuracy of its information through verification and supplementation processes, and based on this, provides detailed, customized search capabilities.
As Pocket Doctor is a location-based service, it allows users to find the hospital closest to their current location and perform convenient location searches using a map. For example, a customer needing a pediatric dentist offering evening hours near the nearest subway station can select "Subway Station Area," "Evening Hours," and "Pediatric Dentistry" in the Pocket Doctor theme search and press the search button. The theme search is organized into categories such as Clinic Hours, Personalized Treatment, Specialized Treatment, and Customer Convenience, allowing customers to find hospitals based on conditions such as Sunday hours, female OB/GYN doctors, Wi-Fi, and parking by selecting individual items.
Users can search for doctors based on criteria such as hospital, medical department, specialty, hospital, and name, as well as view individual doctor profiles and career information. Additionally, it has compiled information on over 4,000 animal hospitals nationwide and supports a customized search function within the animal hospital search.
In addition, it presents medical information through partnerships with domestic medical specialized institutions. Representative content includes the number one medical podcast 'I Am a Doctor', the pregnancy and parenting webtoon 'Honey Honey', Cookie Health TV health videos, specialist columns, fine dust and air pollution, UV level information, medical knowledge, and card news.
KT IS CEO Park Hyung-chul stated, “We have launched Pocket Doctor, a health information platform, to meet customers’ needs for accurate medical information and convenient search services in the era of an aging population,” adding, “We will provide customer-friendly health information services by consolidating the information infrastructure and guidance capabilities of KT IS, which has provided 114 directory assistance services for over 80 years.”
In addition, Pocket Doctor provides a 'Health Encyclopedia' service consisting of a medical terminology dictionary and a drug searcher, as well as an 'Event Collection' service that displays hospital events by region and medical specialty at a glance. With the release of version 2.0 in the second half of this year, the company plans to incorporate a medical EDI system to introduce comprehensive health management services, including a hospital search service, electronic prescription transmission between hospitals and pharmacies, and a simplified claim function for indemnity insurance.

KT는 보호자가 아이의 등하교 정보와 현재 위치 확인이 가능한 어린이 전용 ‘KT 등하교 안심’ 서비스를 출시한다고 11일 밝혔다. KT 등하교 안심 서비스는 아이가 학교의 정문 혹은 후문을 통과하면 전용 단말기를 통해 등하교 여부를 보호자에게 문자로 알려준다. 보호자는 전용 앱을 설치하고 단말 인증을 받아야 서비스 이용이 가능하다. 앱은 1시간 단위로 아이의 이동경로를 확인할 수 있고, 실시간 현재 위치조회도 가능하다.

삼성전자 마시멜로, 아이들 올바른 스마트폰 사용 자율과 보상으로
삼성전자는 아이들 스마트폰에 강제와 제한이 아닌 자율과 보상을 강조한 자녀 스마트폰 관리 앱 '마시멜로우'를 출시했다. ‘아이들이 무력화 시킬 수 없는 앱’에 대한 관심이 높은 때, 자녀에게 규칙을 지키면 포인트를 부여해 자발성을 키워주는 앱이다. 1970년대 스탠포드 대학에서 4살 아이들을 상대로 자기통제 능력을 연구한 ‘마시멜로 테스트’를 모티브로 개발했다. 기존 아이들을 관리하는 앱은 열공, 자유, 스스로 관리 모드로 나뉘어 열공 모드일 경우 갤러리, 메시지, 전화, 카메라만 가능하다. 자유모드에서도 사용 가능한 앱은 부모가 설정할 수 있다. 반면, 마시멜로 앱은 마시멜로 모드, 관리 앱, 그리고 기프트 기능으로 나뉜다. ‘마시멜로 모드’는 자녀가 직접 고른 최대 8개의 앱만 사용할 수 있는 스마트폰 사용 환경으로 허용된 앱을 제외하고는 알람 수신 등이 제한되어 습관적으로 스마트폰을 확인하는 시간을 줄여준다. 자녀가 마시멜로 모드를 얼마나 이용 할지는 자율적으로 선택할 수 있지만 이 모드를 자주 사용 할수록 사용 계획 목표 달성 배지와 레벨 업, 마시멜로 포인트 등을 보상 받을 수 있다.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
