KT Begins Exclusive Sales of 'Galaxy J7'

KT announced that it has exclusively launched the 'Galaxy J7 (2017)' and has begun sales through KT stores nationwide and its official online channel, KT Olleh Shop.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) is the successor to the Galaxy J7 (2016) and features a 5.5-inch Full-HD Super AMOLED display, a full metal design, and an integrated 3,600mAh large-capacity battery, offering significantly upgraded performance compared to its predecessor.
In particular, it features specialized selfie functions by equipping the front with an LED flash and a 13-megapixel camera, and the rear camera uses an f1.7 aperture to take clearer photos in dark places.
The Galaxy J7 supports fingerprint recognition and Samsung Pay, allowing users to securely and conveniently unlock the screen using fingerprint recognition and make easy online and offline payments with Samsung Pay. It will be released in two colors: Black and Gold.
The retail price of the Galaxy J7 is 396,000 won (including VAT), and customers can receive a discount of 316,000 won if they choose the Data Select 60,000 won range plan with a 24-month monthly fee discount (selective contract discount). To celebrate the launch, all KT stores are giving away an 'exclusive premium leather diary case' to purchasing customers (limited quantity). However, the promotion may end early if the gifts run out at each store.

KT Enters Intensive Monitoring System for Telecommunications Services During Summer Vacation Season
KT announced that it is preparing special measures to provide stable communication services for the full-scale summer vacation season, and will enter an intensive monitoring system from the 21st through August 31st. KT has designated a total of 796 major vacation destinations nationwide as "intensive monitoring areas," including Busan's Haeundae and Pohang's Guryongpo, which opened in June, as well as Gyeongpo-dae in Gangwon Province and Jeongdongjin. The company will conduct 24-hour surveillance of approximately 3,700 LTE base stations and approximately 1,250 3G base stations constructed in these areas, while maintaining an emergency recovery system in preparation for contingencies. In order for customers to use communication services without inconvenience at vacation destinations nationwide during the summer vacation period, KT has expanded the intensive monitoring areas by approximately 180 locations compared to last year, and has also increased the number of intensive monitoring base stations by approximately 1.6 times compared to last year.

KT Becomes Chair of GSMA 5G Adoption Project Leading Commercialization
KT announced that Dr. Kim Ha-sung from KT Convergence Technology Institute has been appointed as chairman of the newly established '5G Introduction' project under the Future Networks group of GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association), the world's largest mobile telecommunications operator alliance. The newly established '5G Introduction' project includes participation from not only the three domestic telecommunications carriers but also 15 global telecom operators including NTT Docomo, Deutsche Telekom, China Telecom, and Sprint, as well as global manufacturers such as Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, and Qualcomm. Going forward, the project plans to take the lead in discussions for early 5G commercialization by developing strategic directions and evolution roadmaps for 5G ahead of global 5G commercial deployment, and publishing reports at MWC 2018 next year.
