Ministry of SMEs and Startups Hosts Beyond TIPS to Foster Global Star Ventures
Published2017.07.28 18:36The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the National Academy of Engineering of Korea held the 1st Beyond TIPS event on July 27 (Thu) at Tipstown (located in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul) to foster "Global Star Ventures" that will lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution and create high-quality jobs, by combining the capabilities and networks of both organizations to facilitate the attraction of follow-on investment and EXIT (investment recovery) for outstanding startup teams participating in the TIPS program.

KT announced that it will implement measures to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized partners, ventures, and startups, focusing on support for technology and trade secret protection, provision of research and development test environments, and overall management consulting. In addition, KT will establish a 100 billion won-scale 'win-win cooperation fund' for small and medium-sized enterprises and partner companies facing difficulties in fundraising. This measure was prepared to expand participation opportunities not only for group companies but also for small and medium-sized partners and venture companies in the cultivation of five major platforms. The cultivation of five major platforms involves not only KT but also group companies with capabilities in their respective fields including BC Card, Skylife, and KTH, along with K-Bank, the nation's first internet-specialized bank.
