Samsung Electronics won a total of seven main awards, including two gold, three silver, and two bronze awards, at the world-renowned international design competition 'IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards) 2017'.

Samsung Electronics earned the honor of being the "No. 1 company in cumulative awards over 5 years" with a cumulative total of 32 main awards from 2013 to this year. This year, a total of 41 products, including smartphones, refrigerators, and air purifiers, were awarded, including the main prize winner.

The gold-winning 'QLED TV (Q9)' features a transparent optical cable that connects TV peripherals, and allows consumers to choose stand options according to their preferences, such as the easel-style Studio and the aesthetically pleasing Gravity, in addition to the standard stand.

The washing machine 'FlexWash' and dryer 'FlexDry' also won a gold award for demonstrating innovation by applying an ergonomic design to address users' needs for separate washing and drying, with the CompactWash placed on top and the drum washing machine on the bottom as an integrated unit.

The silver-winning 'Gear IconX' is a new concept cord-free earbud with diverse usability, such as fitness-specific features and the ability to listen to music without connecting to a mobile phone, and an ergonomic design that provides a stable fit for exercise or leisure activities.

In addition, the 'Chromebook Plus Pro,' which satisfies the usage environments of both laptops and tablets with its 360-degree moving touchscreen and light weight, and the 'Q9500' windless air conditioner, which resolves user discomfort from direct airflow with 135,000 micro-holes on the front of the air conditioner, also won silver awards.

The bronze awards went to △ the 'CHG90', a QLED gaming monitor that achieves overwhelming immersion through the world's first 32:9 aspect ratio and 49-inch size, and △ the 'PTT (Push-to-Talk) Solution', a disaster safety communication network equipped with communication functions for rapid and accurate rescue operations in the event of a disaster and a UX optimized for it.
