Application of LTE-M-based wireless network from the existing wired network method
Shinheung Precision strengthens mutual growth with SMEs through joint development with JTI

KT announced that it has launched a 'fixed wireless credit card payment terminal' based on the nationwide commercialized LTE-M network, together with its group affiliate Smartro.

Fixed wireless credit card payment terminals utilize an LTE-M-based wireless network with guaranteed nationwide coverage and quality, rather than the existing wired network method, offering faster payment speeds compared to telephone lines (PSTN) and lower costs than environments using internet lines.

The fixed wireless credit card payment terminals were developed by Shinheung Precision and JTI, companies specializing in the manufacture of payment terminals. As for key specifications, both terminals are equipped with a 3-inch receipt printer and a 4.3-inch Color LCD. The Shinheung Precision model weighs 1,193g and measures 229 (length) x 155 (width) x 122 (height) mm, while the JTI model weighs 910g and measures 212 x 137 x 112 mm; both are IC card terminals registered with the Korea Credit Finance Association.

Fixed wireless credit card payment terminals can be subscribed to through KT Group company Smartro (1522-0088), and the usage fee is 5,500 won per month (based on a 2-year contract, including VAT).
