Application systems such as 'Cloud Vector Boost' and 'Slim Gigawire' are revealed

KT announced that it participated in the Broadband World Forum (BBWF) held in Berlin, Germany for three days starting on the 24th and introduced the 'GiGA Wire' solution, which can provide gigabit internet at speeds of 1 Gbps for uplink and downlink even on general copper wires.

BBWF is the world's largest wired communications exhibition, where major telecommunications companies and manufacturers from around the world participate and discuss the direction of next-generation networks. By participating in the BBWF exhibition this year, following its participation in 2016, KT continued to target the European market, where Gigawire technology is suitable as most of the in-house wiring is made of copper wire.

At this BBWF event, KT presented to the global market various application systems developed from the existing Giga Wire technology, such as ▲'Cloud Vector Boost', which optimizes the quality of Giga Wire according to the subscriber's uplink and downlink traffic volume, ▲'Slim Giga Wire', a Giga Wire system optimized for small-scale installations such as villas and small apartments, and ▲'GiGA Wire Coax', a system that enables 1 Gbps Giga Internet using existing coaxial cables.

In particular, KT participated in this event under the name of 'GiGA Wire Alliance' formed with chipset vendors and domestic and foreign manufacturers, and through this partnership, it plans to continue to promote Giga Wire technology on the global stage.

Jeon Hong-beom, head of the Infrastructure Research Lab at KT Convergence Technology Institute, said, “Gigawire has already conducted pilot projects in Turkey and Spain, and commercialization is underway in Asia and North America,” and “Through this BBWF participation, we will widely publicize our technologically and business-wise excellent Gigawire technology and brand to the global market.”
