S-RAY, GoBreath, Relumino Glass and other outstanding projects to be showcased

Samsung Electronics will showcase new C Lab outstanding projects and startup companies created through C Lab at CES 2018.

Samsung Electronics has established a C Lab exhibition booth at Eureka Park in Hall G on the first floor of Sands Expo located in Las Vegas, USA, and plans to introduce these projects to visitors during CES from January 9-12.

The C Lab outstanding projects making their debut at this CES include △portable directional speaker 'S-RAY', △respiratory rehabilitation solution 'GoBreath' for preventing pulmonary complications, and △visual assistance solution 'Relumino Glass' for people with low vision.
'S-RAY' is a portable directional speaker that allows only the user in front of the speaker to hear the sound while surrounding areas remain silent. It is a product designed for people who experience ear fatigue from prolonged earphone use or those who want to use a speaker outdoors but were concerned about causing noise pollution to their surroundings. It comes in a neckband type that can be worn around the neck, an ultra-compact handy type that can be easily attached and detached at desired locations, and a cover type that can be mounted on a smartphone.

'GoBreath' is a respiratory rehabilitation solution created to prevent pulmonary complications that can occur after general anesthesia surgery. When general anesthesia is administered, the lungs cannot self-breathe, causing their function to weaken, so patients must perform pulmonary breathing exercises after surgery. GoBreath enables patients to perform breathing exercises through a dedicated device and app, and allows users to monitor their breathing exercise status and recovery progress. It also provides a service that allows doctors to monitor patients' exercise status.

'Relumino' is a visual assistance solution that helps people with low vision see objects more clearly. At this CES, in addition to the existing visual assistance app for Gear VR, it will debut the prototype of 'Relumino Glass' in sunglasses form for the first time. Relumino Glass is used by connecting to a smartphone. It captures video through a camera mounted on the glasses, transmits the video to the smartphone, processes it through Relumino's proprietary image processing algorithm, and displays it on the display inside the glasses. By utilizing the smartphone's processor and battery, Relumino Glass can be worn more lightly and comfortably.

Additionally, seven startup companies spun off from C Lab will participate together and actively pursue opportunities for global market entry.

At CES 2018, △first-person perspective neckband-type wearable 360-degree camera 'LinkFlow', △AR (augmented reality) smart toothbrush for children 'Kitten Planet', △artificial intelligence solution for facial skin analysis and management 'LuluLab', △smart watch for children that builds good habits 'KidsSoft', △small smart printer for adhesive note printing 'MangoSlab', △watch strap that enables calls simply by placing a finger next to the ear 'Those Guys Lab', and △smart communication device for helmet users 'Analog Plus' will participate.

C Lab is an in-house venture cultivation program introduced by Samsung Electronics starting in December 2012 to spread creative organizational culture and discover creative ideas from employees and staff. To date, it has discovered and cultivated approximately 200 ideas.
