Proposal of two operational plans: normal and emergency
Global consensus is a priority, and the roles of the ITU, WHO, etc. are necessary.

KT Chairman Hwang Chang-kyu proposed the 'Global Epidemic Prevention Platform (GEPP)' at the Davos Forum. GEPP is a platform centered around international organizations such as the WHO that identifies information on infectious diseases and transmits it to health authorities and individuals in each country.

Two operational plans for GEPP were proposed: one for normal times and one for emergencies. For normal times, infectious disease risk information is identified and provided only to those who have consented to the use of their personal information. For emergencies, such as pandemics, the plan involves identifying all mobile phone users' visit history to areas with infectious diseases and providing risk notification services to users. It was emphasized that global consensus must precede this, and the roles of international organizations such as the ITU (telecommunications), WHO (health), and WEF (economics) were highlighted.



In addition, KT plans to implement pilot projects for efficient and secure data utilization and the global expansion of the ERA project within the 'Data Innovation, Telecommunications Working Group' of the ERA, a global infectious disease active response project; it is requesting participation from international organizations and global ICT companies and is discussing cooperation plans with the Global Mobile Communications Association (GSMA).

Meanwhile, Chairman Hwang Chang-kyu met with global leaders, including Microsoft’s Bill Gates and UN Global Compact (UNGC) Secretary-General Lise Kingo, to explain the project to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and request support.
