Dell EMC, which holds the top spot in the global converged infrastructure (CI) market with a market share of nearly half (48.3%, based on IDC data for the third quarter of 2017), has expanded its CI portfolio by launching the 'VxBlock Systems 1000'. The newly introduced VxBlock Systems 1000 offers various configuration options, including Dell EMC's diverse storage and data protection features as well as Cisco's servers and networks, maximizing data center flexibility and efficiency.

Dell EMC’s VxBlock is supplied as a single appliance that integrates storage, servers, networking, virtualization, and management software through pre-validation and optimization. Adopting VxBlock enables the construction of turnkey data center infrastructure and ensures high reliability suitable for mission-critical operations. Designed to handle any workload, the VxBlock 1000 features industry-leading storage as well as a wider range of configuration options and functions, lowering operating costs and delivering a return on investment (ROI) of up to 640% over five years. The biggest advantages of the VxBlock 1000 are business agility, improved data center efficiency, and simplified operations.

You can flexibly select necessary IT resources and data services as needed. For storage, users can choose from four types of Dell EMC products in their desired combinations: the high-end 'VMAX', the all-flash 'XtremIO', the mid-range 'Unity', and the NAS 'Isilon'. Additionally, users can select and install Cisco's 'UCS B Series' blade servers or 'UCS C Series' rack servers, enabling the integration of Dell EMC's extensive data protection solutions, such as backup and disaster recovery, within a single system. Compared to the previous generation model, server scalability has improved by up to 56%, increasing from 512 to 800 units, and supports up to 10 storage arrays.

By freely managing and distributing resources in a pool format, isolated data is eliminated, and rack space is reduced by up to 60% while increasing capacity efficiency. Since various resources can be utilized within a single system and easily allocated to specific applications, there is no need to waste time managing multiple systems separately, even when business and workloads change.
