Minister Yoo Young-min attended 'MWC 2018' and visited the exhibition halls of major companies including Samsung Electronics, Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, and Qualcomm.

The main topic of this MWC is 5G, and several global companies focused on 5G implementation plans and the commercialization of services.

Minister Yoo Young-min visited the Qualcomm booth and stated, “I understand that Qualcomm chips were originally scheduled to be released at the end of 2018, but I request your cooperation to ensure they are released as soon as possible by the third quarter of 2018 for early commercialization in the 5G market.”

In addition, Minister Yoo Young-min visited the Korean Pavilion at the MWC exhibition to encourage small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies, stating, "I am proud to see our companies participating in a world-class exhibition, and especially to see young people bringing their imagination and ideas to life through these exhibits."

Meanwhile, during the exhibition, an agreement was reached through a bilateral meeting with the Indian Minister of Communications to establish a working group in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector between the two countries to further expand cooperation, including the exchange of new technologies.
