Infineon has launched the high-power intelligent power modules MIPAQ Pro, optimized for energy storage and smart grids. They feature internal parameter monitoring and easy scalability. They also feature high power density, real-time junction temperature detection, and secure authentication. In addition, they significantly reduce the effort required for power stage development and system commissioning by enhancing smart protection functions and increasing design flexibility. This makes it easy for customers of all sizes to integrate MIPAQ Pro into existing and new applications.

Space is limited for any type of application. The intelligent wiring of the MIPAQ Pro helps to overcome these limitations. The smart features allow the replacement of power units and subsystems with a 50 percent higher rating. Real-time monitoring allows operation as close as possible to the 150°C semiconductor junction temperature limit.

Inverters with MIPAQ Pro can easily change topology. At the end of the production line, customers can select between chopper mode and half-bridge mode via Modbus. This is particularly useful for manufacturers of inverters for energy storage and smart grids. Another advantage is that the protection level can be optimized via software.
