Passed certification by adding detection capabilities such as infiltration and organic matter

KT announced that its intelligent CCTV video analysis solution, 'GiGAeyes 2.0' (GiGAeyes VA v2.0), has become the first in Korea to receive certification in the defense industry from KISA (Korea Internet & Security Agency).

KISA's defense industry certification was conducted to evaluate intelligent CCTV technology for the "Scientific Border System" project in the defense sector. Intelligent CCTV is a system that analyzes movement captured by cameras and detects abnormal activity. It utilizes video analysis solutions to automatically identify and report signs of intrusion and other abnormalities.

KT's 'GigaEyes 2.0' has passed certification by enhancing the private sector intelligent CCTV solution 'GigaEyes' and adding detection performance for items such as 'loitering', 'infiltration', 'abandonment', and 'fighting'. This solution uses KT's Deep Learning video analysis technology to distinguish between people, objects, and shadows in CCTV footage shot under various conditions, such as 'day/night,' 'lighting changes,' and 'weather conditions,' and can identify only human actions.

Unlike general deep learning, which requires high system performance because it must analyze a large number of images from scratch, KT deep learning technology uses a proprietary algorithm to classify images, enabling accurate and fast event detection even on low-performance systems.

KT Convergence Technology Institute Service Research Center Director Baek Gyu-tae said, “We plan to apply the ‘GigaEyes 2.0’ solution, which was certified this time, to the intelligent video security service ‘GigaEyes’ that was commercially launched last year,” and “With this certification as an opportunity, we plan to actively participate in external projects in the public and private sectors, including the defense industry, in the future.”
